Lindsay Lohan and probiotics

Posted by adianutrition on March 1, 2012

I’m not allowed to blog about the food trucks anymore. Wen says that it’s the only thing I talk about on Wednesdays, and I need to find a new subject. But the food trucks are kind of a big deal, not just for me. Laura, for example. I’m not allowed to go into the specifics of this story, but it involves Laura, taking money from her kids, and the food trucks.

I’ve attached a mock-up of the layout for the variety pack. We signed off on it yesterday and should have it in stock next week. We’re going to be selling them at our next Sam’s Club event for $9.99, and we may include a coupon for a discount on online purchases.

We’re still fixing the website, it’s a little frustrating because we catch one typo, and in the process of correcting the one, the developer then creates another. It’s like the typo version of wac-a-mole. Laura and Wen spent several hours going through HTML code yesterday making changes, and the day ended with a typo on the amount of bacteria in the chews.

The good news is we are getting significantly more online orders, which is great. We’ve moved the hosting service back to where it was, so the site should now load faster. Now we’re going to start to fix the rest of it.

Today’s news is here:

http://scienceblog.com/52434/new-infant-formula-targets-gut-bacteria/

It’s a topic I’ve talked about for a few months, but have never put in the blog. Scientists at the University of Illinois have concluded that probiotics and prebiotics enhance immunity in infants who are fed formula.

Infants have a special need for probiotics because they’re born with sterile intestines.

That study extended to compare babies born naturally versus C-Section. Babies born naturally have a better immune system, because they’re exposed to the mother’s bacteria as they pass through the birth canal.

And as I sit here and type this, I can’t help think about watching my kids being born, and I have to stop writing about this and do something else because I NEVER need to see anything like that again.

Here’s an article on Glowing Plankton:

The plankton glow because they want to be eaten so they can move in the ocean. Much better image.
